Notice on the Adjustment of Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers

Starting from 29 April 2023, China-bound travelers may choose to take antigen test within 48 hours prior to boarding other than nucleic acid test (PCR). Airlines will no longer check pre-departure testing results. The Chinese Embassy in Greece has updated its Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers. In order to avoid any travel delays and disruptions, we recommend that all travelers read and follow the instructions in the guidance carefully.

Guide on Epidemic Prevention and Control Measures for China-bound Travelers:

1. Pre-departure test: China-bound travelers should use antigen rapid test (ART) kit to do self test within 48 hours prior to boarding, and are required to travel to China with a negative test result. In case that you receive a positive test result, you should only travel to China until your test result turns negative. 

2. Health declaration to China Customs: you are required to declare your negative test result to China Customs by filling the Health Declaration Form via the WeChat mini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below), the China Customs APP, or the website of China Customs (https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn) .





3. Airlines will no longer check pre-departure testing results.

4. Self-protection on the aircraft: please abide by the epidemic prevention requirements of the airlines and take proper personal protection to reduce the risk of infection.

5. Inspection upon Entry: upon arrival at the airport in China, you can complete the necessary customs clearance procedures with your health declaration QR code. Those who have a normal health declaration and show no abnormality in the routine quarantine are free to go. Random inspections may be conducted by China Customs. If there are abnormalities in your health declaration or you are showing symptoms such as fever, you are required to cooperate with customs to do epidemiological investigation, medical investigation and so on, and tests for infectious disease may also be taken.

6. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control: after entry into China, you are required to abide by the local epidemic prevention and control requirements.
