Latest Requirements of Visa Application in Greece

The application procedure and documents required to apply for a Chinese visa are as follows:

1.Please visit the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Athens  (CVASC) at:
https:// bio.visaforchina.org/ATH2_ΕΝ/ 

Fill in online the People's Republic of China Visa Application Form by answering all fields and providing truthful and correct information. Print out both the completed application form and the confirmation page. Then sign both the printed confirmation page and field 9 of your application form.

2.In order to submit all required documents of your application at the  CVASC, please make an appointment online by providing your application number, and print out the confirmation form of your visa appointment.

3.Submit your application in person at the CVASC at the allocated time of your  appointment. The CVASC will collect fingerprints of all ten fingers.

*The following applicants are exempt from fingerprint collection:

3.1 Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

3.2 Holders of diplomatic passports, and applicants eligible for diplomatic, official, and courtesy visas;

3.3 Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years in Greece  at the Chinese Embassy or the CVASC and who presented the same passport;

3.4  Applicants with all ten fingers mutilated or whose fingerprints are impossible to collect.

4. Application Materials:

a. Completed online application form  (print-out and present the full form);

b. Original passport and a copy of the passport’s information page;

c. A recently-taken passport photo (in color, full face, front view, and bare head. Dimensions: 48mm×33mm);

d.  Proof of legal residence or entry in Greece (for third-country nationals who are in Greece);

A copy of the invitation letter of the visa sponsor in China, and the Document of Approval issued by their cultural department.

G Visa

Issued to those who intend to transit through China.

 An onward air (train or ship) ticket with confirmed date and seat to the destination country or region.

②Crew members who enter to China’s open ports to board ships must provide a letter of guarantee from a foreign shipping company (including a foreign shipping agency).

*Foreign crew members must apply for a C Visa.

Q1 Visa

(Family reunion)

Q2 Visa

(Visiting relatives)

①Issued  to family members of Chinese citizens.

②Issued to family members of foreigners with  with permanent   residence status in China.

*For the Q1 Visa, “family members” refers to spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children,   spouses of children, brothers and sisters, grandparents, and grandchildren.

①Proof of kinship between the applicant and the inviter (marriage certificate, birth certificate, household registration, proof of kinship issued by the police authorities or a notarial certificate of kinship etc.);

 An invitation letter issued by a Chinese citizen residing in China or a foreigner with Chinese permanent residence status residing in China.

③Proof of the inviter’s Chinese identity (e.g. Chinese ID card, household registration certificate), or the foreigner's passport and Chinese permanent residence permit.

R Visa

Issued to highly-skilled foreign nationals

“Confirmation Letter for High Level Foreign Talents”

*For spouses and children under the age of 18, please submit proof of kinship   (e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificate) and apply for S2 Visa.

S1 Visa   (Accompanying a resident)

S2 Visa   (Visiting relatives)

Issued to spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, and   parents of the spouse of Z Visa or work-type residence permit holders.

① Proof of kinship between the applicant and the inviter (marriage certificate, birth certificate, household registration certificate,  proof of kinship issued by the police authorities or a notarial certificate of kinship etc.);

 Invitation letter issued by the foreigner who is working in China;

③ A copy of the inviter's passport and residence permit.

*If the adult children and their spouses apply for a S2 Visa, in addition to the above materials, they must also submit a corresponding statement of circumstances as required by the consular officer.

X1 Visa

X2 Visa

Issued to foreign students visiting China for their studies.

①“Foreign Student Visa Application Form” (JW201/202 Form);

②The original letter of admission issued by the Chinese school/university.

Z Visa

Issued to those who intend to work in China.

Valid “Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit” or the original Foreigner’s Work Permit Card.

Emergency Humanitarian Visa

① Issued to those who visit China in order to attend funerals or visit to critically sick relatives

② Issued to   parents who are Chinese nationals and who wish to bring their   minor Greek children back to China

③ Issued to   Greek spouses of Chinese nationals who visit China in order to take care of   their Chinese spouses who have lost the ability to live independently

① Invitation letter of Chinese relatives, copy of the inviter’s ID card, copy of the ID card of the deceased or the critically sick patient, death certificate or medical certificate issued by the hospital, critical illness notice, proof of   kinship and other materials;

② Original  passports of both parents and copies of their information page, original passport of the child and copy of its information page, original birth certificate or a notarial certificate of kinship;

 Invitation letter of the Chinese relative in China, a copy of the inviter's ID card, a medical certificate issued by a hospital, the original marriage certificate or a notarial certificate of kinship.
