Notice on Fingerprints Collection of Visa Applicants

In accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations, and with reference to international practice, starting from 15th July 2022, Chinese Visa Application Service Center(CVASC)in South Africa will collect fingerprints of all applicants applying for Chinese visas and issue biometric visas accordingly.


When completing online visa application forms and make the appointment at the official website of the CVASC (www.visaforchina.org), the applicants should submit all application documents to the CVASC and have their fingerprints collected in person. Those forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear all the consequences incurred.


The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection:

(1)  Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

(2)  Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;

(3)  Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Consulate-General or the CVASC in Johannesburg with the same passport;

(4)  Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected.
