Notice of the Embassy in Angola on the latest requirements for visa applications to China

In order to facilitate the people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries, new adjustments for Chinese visa read as follows, effective from 17:00 on 14th March 2023 (Angola hour):

1. Acceptance Criteria

You can apply for all categories of Chinese visa including tourist visa (L).

2. Process

(1) Ordinary visa application

1. Log in to the Luanda Chinese Visa Application Service Center website at https://www.visaforchina.cn/LAD2_EN/ fill in online, submit, download and print the "Visa Application Form for the People's Republic of China", and sign on the confirmation page and item 9 of the form .

2. Use the number on the application form to make an online appointment to submit materials at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Luanda on the specific date and time, save and print the "Visa Appointment Confirmation Form", arrive there at the appointment time and the center will collect the ten fingerprints.

(2) Application for diplomatic, service and courtesy visas

1. Log in to the Luanda Chinese Visa Application Service Center website https://www.visaforchina.cn/LAD2_EN/ fill in, submit and print the "Visa Application Form for the People's Republic of China" online, and sign on the confirmation page and item 9 of the form.

 

2. No need to make an appointment. After communicating with the staff of the embassy, you can go to the Consular Section of the embassy to handle it on-site during working hours with your passport, official note and other visa application materials.

3. Application time limit

After the visa center sends the application materials to our embassy, our embassy generally issues the visa within 4 working days. Additional time required due to supplementary materials, verification situations and other force majeure factors will not be included in this time limit.

4. Application materials

Basic materials for visa application include:

(1) A valid passport

A passport with at least six months of remaining validity and blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate.

(2) A completely filled and signed visa application form and its confirmation page and photos of the applicant

(3)  Proof of legal residence status (applicable to those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)

If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates or visa of residence, employment or student status provided by the relevant authorities of the country where you are currently staying.

(4) A photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable to applicants who were Chinese citizens before and have obtained foreign citizenship)

If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide your previous Chinese passport held and a photocopy of its data page.

If you have obtained Chinese visas before and want to apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page, as well as the previous Chinese visa page. (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change.)

5. Matters needing attention

1. Visa-free situation. Foreigners who are applicable to various mutual visa exemption agreements, who hold valid Chinese permanent residence permission, who hold valid residence permission of all kinds, hold valid APEC business travel cards (excluding virtual cards, which will be accepted from 1st May 2023), and 24-hour transit visa-free personnel do not need to apply for a visa. (Note: For questions about the application of the 72-hour and 144-hour transit visa-free policy, please consult the border inspection agency at the place of entry.)

 

2. Suspension of entry. Entry is suspended under the following circumstances, and you need to re-apply for the corresponding visa: exemption of visa for citizens of Japan, Singapore and Brunei.

People who have a valid visa issued before March 28, 2020 can enter Chinese territory with the aforementioned visa.

3. Exemption from fingerprints. All visa applicants (excluding Hong Kong and Macau visa applicants) are required to keep ten fingerprints, but the following people are exempted from taking fingerprints: (1) applicants under the age of 14 or over 70 years old (2) holding diplomatic passports, or applicants who meet China's diplomatic, service, and courtesy visa requirements (3) applicants who have applied for visas and collected fingerprints at Chinese Embassy in Angola or Luanda Visa Application Service Center with the same passport within 5 years (4) People with all ten fingers incomplete or ten fingerprints that cannot be collected.

4.Proof of permission to return to school. Students who intend to return to school and who apply for a student visa are no longer required to provide a certificate of permission to return to school.

5. Hong Kong-related situation. Those who apply for visas/entry permits to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China and the Macao Special Administrative Region of China should still submit their applications directly to the embassy.
