Notice on applying for visas for Hong Kong and Macao SAR of China via Melbourne Chinese Visa Application Service Center
 

In order to provide a comfortable environment and quality service for applicants applying for visa for Hong Kong/Macao SAR of China, starting from 1st May 2019, applicants holding ordinary passports to Hong Kong/Macao SAR of China are required to submit applications to Melbourne Chinese Visa Application Service Center. The Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne will no longer accept above-mentioned visa applications directly.

The specific arrangements are as follows:

2. Processing time and fees

(1) Business hours: 9:00 to 15:00 Monday to Friday (except public holidays)

(2) Fees: In addition to the visa fee and the express/rush visa fee collected on behalf of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne, Melbourne Chinese Visa Application Service Center will charge a certain amount of service fee. Please refer to the center website for the specific standard of rates.

(3) Processing time: For regular service, the processing time usually takes 4 working days after the application has been processed by the Government of the Hong Kong SAR or the Government of the Macao SAR. For expedited service, approval of consular officials is required, and additional fees will apply. It is recommended to leave at least 1 month processing time to process your application.

3. Special notes

(1) The Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne has the authority to decide whether a visa will be issued or not. Melbourne Chinese Visa Application Service Center is not involved in the visa assessment and decision-making process.

(2) Applicants holding diplomatic, service (official) passports, applicants applying for diplomatic, service or courtesy visas, and Chinese citizens applying for entry permit of Hong Kong SAR of China can still submit applications to the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Melbourne (Address: 534 Toorak Rd, Toorak, VIC 3142, Australia; office hours: 9am to 12pm, Monday to Friday, except public holidays).

(3) Applicants can apply for visa for Hong Kong/Macao SAR of China through Melbourne Chinese Visa Application Service Center, or applicants can also submit applications to the Immigration Department of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR or the Immigration Department of Macao SAR Public Security Police Force.
