Two-way mail service to applicants qualified with fingerprint collection exemption
In order to facilitate to submit Chinese visa applications, our center intends to provide two-way mail service to applicants who meet the requirements for fingerprint collection exemption in the Jurisdiction of the Chinese Embassy in Canada. This will commence on December 2nd, 2019. The pertinent contents of the two-way mail service are explained as follows:
For mailing application for : Newfoundland&Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Nunavut's applicant:
1. The two-way mail service is available to applicants (located in Canada)who meet the requirements for fingerprint collection exemption, that is, on the day when the center accepts the application, the applicant is younger than 14 years-old or older than 70 years-old, or since January 1, 2019, the applicant has applied for and obtained a visa in our center, and the applicant applies for a visa again with the same passport.
2.Starting from December 17,2025 until December 31,2026, fingerprints collection will be exempted for eligible applicants who apply for short-term visas with a stay period of 180 days or less.
Applicants for Category D, J1, Q1,S1,X1 and Z visas will still follow a fingerprints collection procedure as required.
3. The center encourages applicants to visit the center to submit applications in person. If the applicant voluntarily chooses the two-way mail service, additional service fees must be paid besides the regular visa fees and service fees. Please check our website for fee details.
The applicant will be notified the payment after we receive the application documents by email, e-transfer needs to be done at the time by our payment step guide.
4. If you are qualified for fingerprint collection exemption and require mailing service:
1. After the online review is completed, you will need to mail the following documents:
(1) A printed copy of the "Online Review Completed" certificate received as an email attachment;
(2) The applicant's original passport;
(3) One passport photo (taken within the last 6 months with a white background) that meets visa requirements;
(4) A prepaid return envelope (including your mailing address; Canada Post and UPS are accepted only).
2. Our staff will contact you via email after receiving your package to confirm the type of visa you need, the number of entries, whether expedited processing is required, and the necessary fees. You will then need to make payment via E-transfer (including visa fee, service fee, tax, and mailing service fee).

Note: Since the two-way mail service is a little bit complicated, in order to avoid repeatedly sending documents to the center due to incomplete or non-compliant application documents, applicants are advised to visit the center website, read the relevant requirements carefully, or contact the center in advance.
