Note:
1. The Vancouver Visa Application Center handles visa applications for residents of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. If you are not a resident of British Columbia or the Yukon Territory, please submit your application to the consulate in your residing jurisdiction.
2. Please remember your account and password.
3. After downloading the application form, please ensure that the date of birth, gender, and passport number are correct, as they cannot be changed. Kindly double-check before submission. If there is an error, the entire form must be filled out again.
4.Please make sure to print the form on Letter-Size paper(8.5*11 inches). Ensure the printed content is complete and clear, without any cropping, blurriness. No missing content, barcode or page number.
Basic Documents:
(1) Passport
Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and with at least two blank visa pages, a photocopy of passport data page and photo page if it is separate.
(2) Visa Application Form and Photo
Applicants are required to complete an Online Application Form, print it out and sign the confirmation page, and page number 8. Please remember to bring the complete form to the Visa Centre to submit your application.
Applicants should upload a recently-taken colour passport photo (bare-head, full face with ears, no jewelry) against a light coulour background (size: 48mm x 33mm).
Please bring at least one physical photo as well.
(3) Proof of BC/Yukon residence photocopy (i.e. driver's license, BC health care, etc.)
(4) Proof of legal stay or residence status photocopy (only for those Applicants using non-Canadian passport to apply for Chinese Visa): If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid residence permit, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal stay provided by the relevant authorities of the country where the Visa Center is located.
(5) Photocopy of latest previous Chinese visa (applicable for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).
If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide the last Chinese passport held and a photocopy of its data page and Certificate of Naturalization/Citizenship photocopy.( The name page of the Chinese passport and the name page of the Canadian passport should be placed side by side and copied onto an A4 paper. Please provide 2 copies, and ensure that the photo copies are clear.)
If you have obtained Chinese visas before and apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the latest previous Chinese visa page (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change).
(6) Applicants that are under the age of 16 must provide original and copy of their birth certificate (this must have both parents’ name on it), a photocopy of the first page (information page) of the parents’ passports, a photocopy of the parents’ citizenship paper or the front and back of the parents’ Permanent Residents Card, and a consent form signed by both parents or guardians.
(7) Children (under the age of 16) of Chinese descent (Parent/Parents having or having had Chinese nationality), please bring the birth certificate and the passport and residence certificate held by the parents at the time of birth. If you are unable to provide the required identification, you can scan all the documents and send them to vancouvercenter@visaforchina.org for inquiry.
L-Visa:
Documents showing the itinerary including air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation, etc. or an Invitation Letter for Tourist issued by a relevant unit or individual in China.The invitation letter should contain:
(1) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
(2) Details of the planned visit (incl. arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, accomodation arrangements, etc.);
(3) Information of the inviting party(incl. name of organization or person concerned, contact telephone number, address, official stamp of the organization, signature of the legal representative or individual).
(4) You can download the form of "Letter of Invitation" from our website, under: General Information-->Downloads.and photocopy of Chinese ID (Chinese citizen as inviter) or foreign passport and permanent residence permit( foreign citizen as inviter).
Special Notes:
(1) The invitation letter may be in the form of fax, photocopy or computer printout, but the consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original of the invitation letter. An issuer of invitation letter who is an individual in China should also provide a photocopy of his/her Chinese ID.
(2) If necesssary, the consular officer may require the applicant to provide other proof documents or supplementary materials, or require an interview with the applicant.
(3) The consular officer will decide on whether or not to issue the visa and on its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant.
