Starting from 17th May 2021, the consular legalization applications should be submitted to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Zurich (hereinafter referred to as 'Visa Center'). Please read the following information:

2. Scope of documents

The Chinese Consulate General in Zurich consigns Visa
Center to provide the legalization of documents issued by the Swiss government
and the institutions, which are intended to be used in China. Relevant
documents must be authenticated by the Legalization Office of state government
office before coming to our Visa Center for the consular legalization.
3. Documents required to apply for legalization
Documents required for civil legalization:
(1) Truthfully, completely and accurately filled
legalization application form (Signature must be a manuscript).
(2) Original and photocopy of the legalized seal page
of the Legalization Office of State Government.
(3) Chinese translation of the
documents in the case the original documents are not in Chinese or German or
English. (Translation requires no notarization.)
(4) Original and photocopy of the applicant's passport or other legal identity
document. In the case of entrusting the third party to submit the legalization,
only the copy of the applicant’s passport or other legal identity document is required.
(5) Original and photocopy of the agent's passport or other legal identity
document. (in the case of entrust the third party to submit the legalization)
Documents required for commercial legalization:
(1) Truthfully, completely and accurately filled legalization application form
(Signature must be a manuscript).
(2) Original and photocopy of the legalized seal page of the Legalization Office of State Government.
(3) Original and photocopy of the Commercial Register Extract.
(4) The applicant should be the person in charge of the enterprise/company shown on the Commercial Register Extract with the right to sign or to sign jointly.
(5) Chinese translation of the documents in the case the original documents are not in Chinese or German or English. (Translation requires no notarization.);
(6) Original and the photocopy of
the applicant's passport or other legal identity document.
(7) Original power of attorney must be issued by the company (with company’s
letterhead entitle or official company stamp). In the case of entrusting the
third party to submit the legalization, the original power of attorney is
required, which must be issued by the company (with company’s letterhead
entitle or official company stamp).
(8) Original and photocopy of the agent's passport or other legal identity
document (in the case of entrusting the third party to submit the legalization).
4. Schedule of Fees
The Visa Center charges legalization fees on behalf of the Consulate General and the service fees. Please click here for details.
**All fees must be paid after submitting the application within business hours on the same day.
All the fees will not be refunded if the application is not approved or processed in accordance with the regulations.
5. Division of Consular Regions
Consular regions of the Consulate General in Zurich and for the Principality of Liechtenstein:
Swiss States: Zürich, Luzern, St. Gallen, Aargau, Graubünden, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, Glarus, Zug, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Thurgau.

6. Note
(1) Documents required for
legalization must be true and legal, and must not contain any content that
harms sovereignty, safty and the public interest of the People’s Republic of
China. Legalized documents cannot be changed or replaced. Any problems and legal
liabilities arising from the applicant's own modification or replacement of
documents shall be borne by the applicant.
(2) If the document for legalization exceeds two pages, it should be sealed
with fire-resistant paint or stamped with a joint seal or stamped (each page)
and bound into a book to ensure the integrity of the document. Failure to meet
the requirements will not be accepted.
(3) The Visa Center may require the applicant to provide other documents deemed
necessarily by the Consulate General.
(4) The Visa Center is only responsible for the legalization acceptance duty
and does not participate in the legalization approval process.
