1. Basic Documents
(1) Passport
Original personal passport with at least six months of remaining validity, at least 2 blank visa pages, a photocopy of the passport page (the data page that includes the photo, personal information and signature page).
In the case of Z、X1、Q1、S1、J1 visa, the passport validity should be longer than the validity and duration of stay of the visa.
(2) Visa Application Form and Photo
Form: Applicants are required to fill in an online application form, print out and sign on the requested places (both the confirmation page and the signature page).

Photo: Applicants should upload a recently-taken color passport photo (bare-head, full face with ears, no jewelry) against a white background. Please ensure that you have uploaded the correct photograph of the person detailed in the application form when filling in the online appllication. Otherwise penalties can include refusal of entry or deportation. Please click here for the photo requirements.
Please make sure to bring the complete and signed visa application form and 1 physical photo (exactly the same with the uploaded photo) as well to our center.
(3) Proof of legal status (applicable for those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)
If you are not applying for a visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates (KITAS/ KITAB/ Work Visa) of residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal stay provided by the relevant authorities of the country where the Visa Center is located.
(4) Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).
If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide the last Chinese passport held and a photocopy of its data page.
If you have obtained Chinese visas before and apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change).
(5) For minor applicants under 18 years old, the following supplementary documents are required:
    a. Photocopy of the unabridged birth certificate of the applicant ;
    b. Photocopy of the parents' passports or ID cards ;
   c. An affidavit from non-accompanying parent(s) authorizing the travel (Parental Letter of Consent). This affidavit should contain the dates of travel and the parents contact information.
Note: The parent or guardian shall sign behalf of a minor under 18 years of ages in the Visa Application Form.

2. Documents Regarding Your Visa Type
Documents showing the itinerary including air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation, etc. or an Invitation Letter for Tourist issued by a relevant unit or individual in China. The invitation letter should contain: 
(1) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
(2) Details of the planned visit (incl. arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, accomodation arrangements, etc.);
(3) Information of the inviting party(incl. name of organization or person concerned, contact telephone number, address, official stamp of the organization, signature of the legal representative or individual).

*Please note:
(1) Each applicant must provide all the documents mentioned above (A4 size paper applies to all the documents). Applicants may not share the supporting documents for their applications
(2) The invitation letter may be in faxed, copied or printed version. Consular officers may request an applicant to provide the original of the invitation letter. The invitation letters from Chinese individuals should present the photocopy of the ID (applicable to those who apply for F, M, L, Q1, Q2, S1 and S2 visa).
(3) Consular officers may request an applicant to provide additional supporting documents or conduct an interview when deemed necessary.
(4) Whether a visa is to be issued or not, as well as the period of its validity, number of entries and duration of stay will be decided by consular officers according to the applicant’s actual situation.
