The following documents are required to be uploaded:
(I) Passport or other travel document:
A passport / travel document valid for at least six months from the date of application, with at least two blank visa pages. Upload the bio-data page of the passport.
(II) Visa application form and photo:
Upload a digital photo (taken within the past six months, front-facing, in color, with a white background, 33mm*48mm size, without head-wear or accessories). For detailed photo requirements, please click here. After receiving the Visa Application Confirmation , bring one paper photo when submitting the application at the CVASC. If the system indicates that the uploaded photo does not meet the requirements, please try uploading again several times and then complete the form according to the website instructions.
(III) Proof of legal residence status (for applicants applying visa outside their country of nationality):
If you are applying for a visa outside your country of nationality, please upload valid proof of legal residence in the country where you are applying [e.g., Permanent Resident Card( both sides), work permit, study permit].
(IV) Previous Chinese passport or previous Chinese visas (for applicants who were Chinese nationality and later obtained foreign nationality):
If this is your first application for a Chinese visa, please upload the bio-data page of your former Chinese passport. When submitting the application in the CVASC, you must present the original former Chinese passport, and provide one photocopy showing the bio-data page of the former Chinese passport and the bio-data page of the current Canadian passport on the same sheet.
If you have previously obtained a Chinese visa and are applying with a renewed foreign passport, please upload the bio-data page of the former passport and the Chinese visa previously obtained.
Note:If the name recorded in the new passport differs from that in the former passport, please upload official documentation proving the name change.
(V) For ethnic Chinese applicants applying for the first time,additional documents are required to upload(if anyone cannot be provided, please explain on a separate sheet):
Note: If you have previously obtained a Chinese visa and can upload the previous visa, the following documents are not required.
1. Applicants born outside China must upload:
1) Birth certificate with both parents’ names and other relevant information;
2) Bio-data pages of both parents’ passports at the time of the applicant’s birth, and the immigration status of both parents’ at the time of the applicant’s birth (e.g., Permanent Resident Cards, landing papers or Canadian Citizenship Certificate.);
3) Bio-data pages of both parents’ current passports.
2. Applicants born in China who once held a Chinese passport and later obtained foreign nationality must upload:
1)Former Chinese passport and current foreign passport;
2)Birth certificate with both parents’ names and other relevant information;
3)Bio-data pages of both parents’ passports, and the front and back of both parents’ Permanent Resident Cards (if applicable).
(VI)Other supporting documents (including but not limited to):
Documents showing the itinerary including round trip air tickets(or train/ ferry tickets) booking record and proof of a hotel reservation, etc. or an Invitation Letter for Tourist issued by a relevant unit or individual in China.The invitation letter should contain:
(1) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
(2) Details of the planned visit (incl. arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, accomodation arrangements, etc.);
(3) Information of the inviting party(incl. name of organization or person concerned, contact telephone number, address, official stamp of the organization, signature of the legal representative or individual). An issuer of invitation letter who is an individual in China should also provide a photocopy of his/her Chinese ID.
1、 The invitation letter can be in photo or PDF format.
2、If necesssary, the consular officer may require the applicant to provide other proof documents or supplementary materials, or require an interview with the applicant.
3、The consular officer will decide on whether or not to issue the visa and on its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant.
4、 The Toronto CVASC only accepts payment via e-transfer or Canadian debit card.
